For those whoever want to buy Alienware gaming notebook with the best performance, i will suggest you to wait for a little more time. Why? The only reason is that the Alienware m17x will be spotted with the new Intel Sandy Bridge Processor.
Just imagine, the intel core i7 940XM processor extreme edition has core clock speed 2.13 GHz with turbo boost 3.33 GHz, and the lowest intel core i7 Sandy Bridge (i7 2720QM) has the core clock speed 2.2 GHz with turbo boost 3.3 GHz which means i7 2720QM can compete the i7 940XM. Of course the intel core i7 940XM much more expensive than the i7 2720QM. And the higgest Sandy Bridge core i7 is 2920XM with the core clock speed 2.5 GHz and turbo boost up to 3.5GHz. Another good news from this processor is that it has the switchable graphic. It will help on the battery life.
To sum up, there is a quote something like "if you wait for the better the technology, you will wait forever" but now is different, the Alienware m17x spotted with intel i7 Sandy Bridge processor is worth being waited.
